Qualifications

  • 21 years of age (18 years of age for Corrections and Civilian)

  • High school diploma or GED recognized by the Maryland State Board of Education

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with 10 years of verifiable U.S. Residency

  • Possess a valid driver’s license with no more than 3 points

  • No convictions for DWI/DUI

  • No criminal convictions on record

  • Any Probation Before Judgment on a criminal record must be expunged prior to hire date

  • Visible tattoos are permitted as long as they are not on the hands, face, head or neck and are not offensive, indecent, extremist, racist or sexist.  Exception is one band tattoo on the finger

  • No PBJs for DWI/DUI within the past 3 years

       Corrections

New Hire        $54,642

1 Year            $56,285

2 Years         $57,387

 

 

 

Shift Differentials

7% for 4-12 Shift

10% for 12-8 Shift

7% for Investigative Services Bureau

Permanent Shift Assignments

4 Days on/2 Days Off

8.5 hour shifts
